Help me with Restaurant Concepts

I am located in mumbai. I am starter and new to this industry. I am basically from travel & tourism background. and i plan to start my own restaurant maybe 2 or 3 years later. I have no idea as to how much of investment is required. As far as area is concered, i'd like to open one either at bandra, juhu or near andheri coz these places are usually crowded.
well that is good news and bad as well good that you from travel industry and bit sure bout the area
investments are bit high comparatively these days
i will be coming in apr or may to india as my holidays if u are interested we can take this chat further when i come down there
u can also add me on face book sameer kuthe as friend , or i can if you want let me know
but now a days trends are more of american chains or european for that matter directly open with there brand name as franchise which is good in way as brand is already there with u but costs are high but returns sure or not depends ,
other way is creating a brand by our self any marketing it takes bit time but once done can do very well n invesment is bit lower and royalties to pay
some ideas to think bout but let me know , i would be interested to open one in mumbai ,

Hi Urmila,
I have a friend who is also in the process of setting up his own restaurant say in the next 6 months or so. He also has his own consultancy and he can help u out with starting your restaurant if u are interested then let me know.

the best is to open a tea shop outside some IT company and then expand the bussiness by selling bonda's and vada's and if it clicks add Idly and Dosa...then add lunch menu.. fixed Meals lunch... then add rotis and chapathis to the menu.. then add more tables and chairs.. then add more staff... then ambience... but make sure then cost is within budget for IT employees daily expense for lunch and dinner - a full lunch meal should be less then 40 bucks..
